9 Comments:

  1. I’ve often wondered why the ratings for a program that’s shown in both Sydney and Melbourne are almost always better in Melbourne than in Sydney. That’s despite Sydney having a larger population.

Can anyone help me out here?

          • Yes, but I was referring to OzTam’s 2018 “Universe Estimates” (catchment population, not people meters) which shows, according to their measurements, Melbourne is now officially a bigger market than Melbourne (don’t ask me how that works, maybe something to do with Geelong)?

Total people: Sydney: 5.115 million / Melbourne: 5.136 million.

          • Ok but no link thanks. This has been a site rule since day 1. Either way same people meters in Syd / Melb indicates Melb generally watches more TV. Recent site poll put Melb as most “diehard audience.”
