Nine stars help raise funds for the Sydney Children’s Hospital Foundation.

Nine’s Gold Telethon raised $6.1m for the Sydney Children’s Hospital Foundation yesterday, just topping last year’s $6m.

Nine Chief Executive Officer, Hugh Marks, said, “It was an amazing telethon full of fun, entertainment, emotion, and achievement. Everyone here at Nine is humbled by the way New South Wales opened their hearts and their wallets to help us surpass our fundraising goal. No matter how big or small your donation, every dollar will go towards helping the children and their families in our community who need it the most.

“I would like to thank all those involved in putting together this year’s telethon, both in front of and behind the camera, and thank you to all the businesses and the viewers who so generously donated to this worthy cause.”

Nicola Stokes, CEO of the Sydney Children’s Hospital Foundation added: “What a fabulous day where celebrities, hospital patients, organisations and the community all pitched in, making Gold Telethon the greatest show to help sick children live their healthiest lives.

“We’re humbled by the generosity of families from all around New South Wales, raising over $6.1 million to go towards state of the art equipment and innovative research. You’re supporting sick kids, like Ollie, get the best possible care in hospital, as well as helping them get home sooner to their family and friends.”

David Campbell hosted proceedings with a ringmaster theme joined by Nine personalities, showbiz & sports stars.

        1. A lot of Sydney siders don’t know this is a thing (including me). The only nine I watch is origin and grand final and I don’t recall this being advertised last Wednesday night. Would have been a great opportunity.
