  1. I wonder how buying blind rates? I like the show but feel it’s way too long. it doesn’t seem very big on social media either? maybe a 1 season show?

    1. I find Back Roads insufferably boring compared to Australian Story, which is being immensely missed in our household. We used to watch nothing but ABC on Monday night, but since Aus Story went off air we give up during 7.30 and don’t go back. Hope this change isn’t a long term thing.

  2. Actually a J-Curve is a common trajectory for most shows. Start high, drop a little after that, then come home strong.
It’s tough for a show renewal if no one cares until the last 2/3 weeks?

  3. Interesting to compere the ratings figures for Ten Melbourne news at the end of the week compared to previous week with Steve Quartermain. Thought would be some increase in rating for Jennifer Keyte’s first night..Some time these changes are a bit like rearranging the deckchairs on the Titanic

  4. It seems to be the trajectory each year for House Rules: starts the season behind the competition and then ramps up until it eventually outrates its reality rivals towards the final. Typically it is the opposite for a lot of shows, starting high and dropping viewers through the season.

    1. I actually watch it less as the season goes on. I’m never really interested in the backyards part of the season and end up losing interest. and they seem to drag the show out at the end.
