MasterChef dominates, late night boost for SBS on Thursday.

Ratings: No show was able to eclipse the magic million, but victory went to Seven.

It was another low-viewing night on Thursday with no show able to eclipse the magic million.

MasterChef ruled from 7:30 – 9pm with 787,000 while Seven and Nine both had staggered schedules due to sport. The Masterclass averaged 561,000 which began to see some competition from Nine.

Seven Rules again led Nine News while A Current Affair beat ABC News and Home and Away.

The FIFA World Cup drew 147,000 for the match between Russia & Saudi Arabia with SBS leading at around midnight.

Seven network won Thursday with 30.0% then Nine 26.6%, TEN 19.7%, ABC 15.0% and SBS 8.6%.

Seven News was #1 with 943,000 / 932,000 for Seven then The Chase (618,000 / 410,000), Home and Away (601,000), Seven’s AFL (416,000) and Funniest Ever Crazy Cats (267,000 in 3 cities). The Front Bar drew 236,000.

Nine News (937,000 / 906,000) was best for Nine then A Current Affair (739,000), Hot Seat (539,000 / 298,000), Thursday Night NRL  (350,000 in 3 cities), and Britain’s Got Talent (260,000). RBT was 230,000 in 3 cities. The Footy Show pulled 77,000 in Sydney & 46,000 in Brissy.

MasterChef Australia (787,000 / 561,000) won for TEN then The Project (488,000 / 309,000), TEN Eyewitness News (426,000), Family Feud (294,000) and James Corden’s Carpool Karaoke (249,000).

ABC News (657,000), 7:30 (514,000), Grand Designs Australia (512,000), QI (310,000), Sammy J (293,000), Think Tank (216,000), The Drum (133,000) and Wentworth (123,000) comprised ABC’s night.

On SBS it was The Handmaid’s Tale (226,000), Great British Railway Journeys (213,000), FIFA World Cup (147,000), SBS World News (140,000), The Eighties (132,000) and Luke Nguyen’s Food Trail (104,000).

PJ Masks topped multichannels on ABC KIDS with 184,000. Love Island drew 181,000.

    1. Really? There were promos for it seemingly in every ad break for over a week prior. I’d say anyone interested would have caught these on YouTube already…

      1. Does that same logic apply to cat/dog/toddler videos?
        I’d say 249 is probably an expected 945 number, wouldn’t you? More than SVU does. Hell, it’s more than Love Island.. even in demo!
