Peter Gleeson to host weekend edition of Heads Up

Queensland journo will host Friday - Sunday edition of SKY News current affairs.

Peter Gleeson will host a weekend edition of late night current affairs show Heads Up for SKY News, as he steps aside as editor of the Sunday Mail (Qld).

Gleeson has been a contributor to the weeknight show hosted by Janine Perrett.

Angelos Frangopoulos, CEO and Managing Editor, Australian News Channel said: “As a regular guest commentator on SKY News for many years and more recently as our weekend host of Heads Up, I am delighted Peter has joined us in a full-time capacity.

“A well-connected and experienced editor, Peter will provide viewers with a unique perspective on the big issues affecting Queenslanders, right from the heart of Brisbane.”

As Sky News Contributor, Peter will provide insight and perspective daily across a range of Sky News programs Live from the channel’s Brisbane studio.

Peter will continue to anchor the late night national affairs program Heads Up each Friday, Saturday and Sunday at 11:00pm AEST on Sky News Live, giving viewers the inside look at the stories making tomorrow’s headlines.

Peter will also contribute as a regular columnist for the Courier Mail and the News Corp Sunday papers nationally.

Peter is one of Australia’s most experienced newspaper journalists and editors, having held senior editorial positions across regional and metropolitan newspaper titles, most recently as editor of Queensland’s biggest selling newspaper The Sunday Mail. Previous roles have included editor of the Gold Coast Bulletin and the Townsville Bulletin.

  1. Hopefully this means we won’t have to put up with him on The Today Show any more with his blatant anti Labor comments. Now if we could get rid of Hadley & Devine too would be an improvement.
