  1. I started Anne with an E out of curiosity and ended up watching the whole season even though I didn’t expect I would like it, this shows choice of actors made me think of Disney but the show didn’t take long to establish itself as a typically solid Canadian production, the performance of Amybeth McNulty kept the story together which is no small feat considering that this classic story has had many well known movies made of Anne of Green Gables.

    1. I agree I really enjoyed it, some didn’t like it as they were too hung up on the 80s version starting Megan Follows which was also excellent, but I’m glad this series wasn’t too much like. I like how this series delved more into the darker side of being an orphan in the 19th century.
I fail to see how this show takes anything away from previous versions, it doesn’t try to be a copy it takes its own spin on the books and yes, takes some liberties with the books also. Although I did not like that they changed the storyline of Matthew so much I think that was one part of the book that should have remained.
