Dystopian titles include 2017 French drama Transfer and the original Westworld film.

SBS On Demand is adding some dystopian titles from Thursday which includes 2017 French drama series Transfer and the original Westworld film starring Yul Brynner.

Transfer screened at Series Mania in Melbourne last year.

High Rise (2015) –
1975. Dr. Robert Laing moves into his new apartment seeking soulless anonymity, only to find that the building’s residents have no intention of leaving him alone. He bites the bullet, and as he struggles to establish his position, Laing’s good manners and sanity disintegrate along with the building. The lights go out and the lifts fail but the party goes on.

Transfer (2017 French Drama Series)
Scientists discover a way to keep a person alive by transferring their mind into someone else’s body. A procedure once used for medical purposes, transfers are soon outlawed after a series of incidents called ‘shell shocks’ – a glitch causing intense paranoia and mental instability – turned the transfers into killers and a menace to society.

Westworld (1973)
Welcome to the adult playground designed to cater to any fantasy, where lifelike robots are programmed for anything. Peter Martin and John Blane come for a vacation in this simulated Wild West, complete with dance hall girls, free-for-all bar fights and shoot-outs – all safe and harmless. But when Blane dies after being shot by a robot, Martin discovers that something has gone very wrong – the human operators are all dead, and the robots are now killing the guests. The hit US television series of the same name is based on this film and its origins.
