Today show week in Melbourne

Today will broadcast a full week from Melbourne for the first time in nearly 12 years.

Today will broadcast a full week from Melbourne next week for the first time since the 2006 Commonwealth Games.

Georgie Gardner, Karl Stefanovic, Sylvia Jeffreys, Tim Gilbert and Richard Wilkins, will present from Nine’s Docklands studios.

Georgie Gardner said: “I always look forward to any opportunity to get to Melbourne. We will be there right in the middle of the footy season which brings great energy and passion to Victoria, and the restaurants and pubs are fabulous. It’s always such a great opportunity to meet our loyal Today viewers who make us feel welcome.”

Karl Stefanovic added: “Melbourne is the greatest city in the world and I can’t wait to catch up with old friends, eat at the world’s best restaurants and watch Richmond smash the Swans!”

Melbourne’s No. 1 news team of Peter Hitchener, Tony Jones, Livinia Nixon and Alicia Loxley will all swing by and join the cast of Melbourne’s favourite breakfast program throughout the week.

Today’s Melbourne reporter, renowned journalist Christine Ahern, will report live from the scene each morning on the biggest stories affecting Melburnians.

A star-studded lineup of guests will feature on next week’s special broadcast including Andy Lee, Shaun Micallef, Rebecca Maddern and Dave Hughes.

Plus, Gold Logie nominee Tracy Grimshaw will join the show as we count down to television’s biggest night of the year.

And rock superstars Foreigner, who brought us the classic hits I Want to Know What Love Is and Waiting For a Girl Like You, will liven up your week, ahead of their Australian tour later this year.

5:30am weekdays on Nine.
