Last night Todd Sampson’s Body Hack 2.0 was the second-highest ranking show for viewers aged 16-39 and 18-49. Younger viewers were drawn to his embedded doco joining an Iraqi shock troop in the Islamic State strong hold of Mosul -normally the domain of ABC or SBS.

It follows from last week’s episode with India’s holy men enduring pain also scoring with younger viewers. Total viewers for last night were 446,000, locked in a battle with Seven’s split scheduling.

MasterChef Australia topped entertainment offerings at 838,000 viewers, ahead of Home and Away, RBT, Grand Designs Australia, 7:30 Great British Railway Journeys.

The Footy Show has real headaches with Melbourne’s 167,000 whipped by Seven’s Front Bar on 228,000 while the Sydney edition, with no NRL, tanked at just 62,000 -even its World’s Wildest Flights lead-in managed 114,000 in that city.

Seven network won Thursday with 31.3% then Nine 25.3%, TEN 20.2%, ABC 15.6% and SBS 7.7%.

Seven News (978,000 / 933,000) was #1 for Seven then Home and Away (651,000), The Chase (621,000 / 375,000), House Rules (334,000 in 2 cities), The Front Bar (314,000 in 3 cities) and Ramsay’s Kitchen Nightmares (306,000).

Nine News (960,000 / 924,000) was best for Nine then A Current Affair (780,000), Hot Seat (566,000 / 337,000), RBT (559,000) and The Footy Show (336,000). World’s Wildest Flights was 168,000 in 2 cities.

MasterChef Australia (838,000) won for TEN then The Project (501,000 / 311,000), Todd Sampson’s Body Hack 2.0 (446,000), TEN Eyewitness News (445,000) and Family Feud (318,000). Law & Order: SVU was 213,000.

ABC News (657,000), Grand Designs Australia (508,000), 7:30 (442,000), QI (327,000), Sammy J (325,000), Think Tank (220,000) and Wentworth (139,000).

On SBS it was Great British Railway Journeys (259,000), The Handmaid’s Tale (242,000), Luke Nguyen’s Food Trail (157,000), SBS World News (146,000) and Next of Kin (89,000).

7mate movie Red topped multichannels with 199,000. Love Island drew 170,000.

  1. No surprise really, that kind of Gonzo Journalism is what VICE has built it’s success on for that demo. Honest but emotional news when the host / presenter is inherently affected or involved with the story their engrained in.
