Tomorrow marks the last ever SBS World News bulletin for Lee Lin Chin after some 30 years with the broadcaster.
Known for her voice, fashion style and irreverence, Lee Lin Chin is synonymous with SBS. But as she tweeted yesterday, we haven’t seen the last of her.
I have not retired, simply resigned. Retirement is death.

At World News Australia, SBS World News and The Feed she has been a voice of authority, and more recently, one of humour. Freely sending herself up in sketches by young producers (Chris Leben and Nick McDougal), Lee Lin Chin found a cult audience and earned a Gold Logie nomination.
In 2016 she told TV Tonight, “It came as an unexpected development that the bosses approved the fact that one of their newsreaders is assuming a persona that is totally opposite to the newsreader. But I’m even more grateful that the audiences of both don’t have a problem with it.”
In the 2014 Sydney Gay & Lesbian Mardi Gras SBS staff marched with Lee Lin Chin masks and T-shirts declaring, “diversity matters”.
Here are some reminders of why we love Lee Lin.
