SKY News presenter suspended after rant at charity event

SKY News investigating Sunday Edition host Greg Thomson following incident at charity event.

SKY News presenter Greg Thomson has been suspended following a foul-mouthed rant at a charity event on Friday.

Thomson was hosting a $270-a-head charity lunch for disability support group Inala at Sydney’s Four Seasons on July 13 when he unleashed in front of 400 corporate guests.

Embarrassing video footage has emerged in which he berates the noisy room.

“You can get offended by swear words but I don’t give a s*** I’m going to say it. You’re all f***ed off your heads,” he shouted to the crowd.

“Can everyone shut up?” he continued.

“Shut your mouth. Put your manners back in and shut up.”

As the crowd booed and shouted to “get him off” another man intervened, taking the microphone off him and opting to conclude proceedings.

“Greg Thomson was taken off air and suspended immediately pending an investigation,” a SKY News spokesperson told The New Daily.

Thomson re-joined SKY News in 2015 as sports presenter on Sunday Edition before becoming co-anchor of Saturday Edition and Sunday Edition this year. He also reports for FOX Sports News.

Thomson reportedly volunteered his time at the charity event.
