Airdate: 2018 Magarey Medal

South Australian football awards will air Live on 7mate in Adelaide.

The 2018 Magarey Medal presentation and SA Football Hall of Fame induction ceremony will be broadcast Live at 9pm Wednesday on 7mate (Adelaide).

The Magarey Medal Presentation will once again be combined with the South Australian Football Hall of Fame. The SANFL’s modern-day greats will have the opportunity to rub shoulders with SA’s finest footballers as three inductees enter the South Australian Football Hall of Fame.

South Australian football’s night of nights will be hosted by Seven’s Mark Soderstrom.

Soderstrom will be joined by John Casey and Tim Ginever as they interview the newly instated members of the Hall of Fame, while Amelia Mulcahy and Andrew Hayes will present the red carpet coverage.

More than 600 guests will gather in the Adelaide’s Oval’s Magarey Room to honour the 2018 Magarey Medallist.

The first Magarey Medal was awarded in 1898 and has been presented every season, except for the years of the two world wars.

Norwood’s Alby Green was the first recipient and Port Adelaide legend Russell Ebert (4) has won the most Magarey Medals, between 1971 and 1980.

Barrie Robran is one of five players to have won three Magarey medals.

Last year’s Magarey Medal was won by Norwood midfielder Mitch Grigg in a thrilling count.

Each of the South Australian Football Hall of Fame inductees will be featured in the telecast of the Magarey Medal presentation.
