SBS VICELAND will screen a documentary special Zero Tolerance: Child Separation which highlights the issues surrounding a divisive Trump immigration policy.
Since May this year, more than 2,000 immigrant children have been separated from their parents and placed in shelters across the United States as part of the Trump administration’s ‘zero tolerance’ policy on immigration.
Some of those children have not seen or spoken to their parents, even though officials have said that boys and girls held in their facilities are supposed to have the chance to speak with their family members twice a week.
From Texas to Alabama to Guatemala, Zero Tolerance: Child Separation follows one family and their lawyer trying to find a 7-year-old boy separated from his father.
Sunday, 26 August at 10.30pm on SBS VICELAND.
