Seven is having another crack at a dessert competition series, with an online casting notice for an unnamed show.

“Are you passionate about sugar, spice and all things nice? Then this dessert competition show is for you! Apply now to share your sweet creations with the nation,” it reads.

Applicants must be at least 18 years of age and need to upload at least 3 photos of dessert dishes they have created.

Seven mounted one season of Zumbo’s Just Desserts, while The Great Australian Bake Off has had 3 seasons on LifeStyle.

  1. When it comes to desserts SBS must take the cake for such cooking shows. Richard Dormer won the 2018 Australian Young Pastry Chef competition with his tempting Chocolate and Hazelnut Layer cake. Richard’s prize is an all-expenses-paid trip to Italy to visit the leading patisseries, but will he come back? One of the judges came from the appropriately named Black Star Pastry chain. The “Death By Chocolate” tour may be gone but we can still drink the DBC Cocktail.

    Really Seven is bereft of new ideas and has been for who knows how many years.
    Yes and what about Dance Boss – you really expect us to believe tradies and maccas workers etc get together in their lunch hours and form a dance troupe ?
    This must have been one long lunch guys…

  3. So it’s really Zumbo’s Just Desserts without the Zumbo. Bake Off had 1 season on 9. I never understood why it went to foxtel instead of continuing on 9.
