Netflix has called time on The Joel McHale Show with Joel McHale.
McHale’s half-hour topical series on pop culture and news from across the globe, featured celebrity guests, comedy sketches, and video clips from TV, sports, politics, celeb culture, and the internet.
The show debuted in February with a 13-episode season at one episode per week.
It was followed by six additional episodes which all premiered in July.
McHale remains with Netflix for Santa Clarita Diet.

That’s a bummer. It was an odd choice though to release the final ones all at once, it’s a once a week show IMO, not a binge one.
I’m a fan of Joel, and this showed early potential, but it got very repetitive very quickly. Probably telling that I haven’t even bothered with the six eps that landed in mid-July
Agreed. I actually found the weekly guest really annoying. Would rather they just stuck with being a clip show.
I enjoyed this show, I used to like McHale on the Soup. It’s not a great loss, but it was good to have something weekly to chuck on.
I wonder what the rationale is. Were the ratings low? Was it not successful internationally? Or is there some metric where they noticed people mainly watched the episodes the week it aired and Netflix wants to focus on original content that will still be finding an audience in years to come.
I watched all of these episodes but can’t say I’m upset. It was occasionally amusing background TV at best.
