Brian Henson pursues Farscape revival

"I’m going to keep trying. It’s just not quite right yet still," says producer Brian Henson.

Jim Henson’s son, producer Brian Henson, hopes to mount a revival of Australian-American sci-fi series Farscape, but admits it is still some time off.

Farscape was filmed at FOX Studios in Sydney and ran on Nine from 1999 – 2004. Nearly all of the cast were Australian / New Zealanders including Claudia Black, Gigi Edgley, Anthony Simcoe, Virginia Hey, Paul Goddard and Wayne Pygram.

Henson, whose film The Happytime Murders is getting a cinema release, told Den of Geek Farscape was the most adult project the company had done.

“I’m sure you’ve heard that I’ve been trying really hard with Farscape. And I’m going to keep trying. It’s just not quite right yet still,” he said.

Asked if the fanbase could help further it along he said, “No, you know what. No. It really isn’t. It’s one of those instances where it’s us, the creators, who need to keep working on it. And feeling no: that didn’t work that time. No, it’s still not quite working. It’s really down to us.”
