Chris Bath, “Lehmo” to host Invictus Games Today

ABC will screen a nightly show when military personal compete in sport for 8 days in October.

Chris Bath & Anthony “Lehmo” Lehmann will host a nightly primetime show across the 8 day Invictus Games in October.

They will be joined by panelists Dylan Alcott from triple j and former competitor Damien Thomlinson (recently eliminated on Australian Survivor), as well as a rotating team of 2018 competitors, military personnel, mental health professionals, sport experts and more.

Invictus Games Today will broadcast on ABC’s main channel from the Invictus Games precinct at Sydney Olympic Park. ABC will have multi-platform coverage across radio and TV programs as well as on ABC News, digital channels, iview and YouTube.

The Invictus Games will see serving and former serving military personal competing across multiple sports from October 20 – 27.

David Anderson, ABC Director of Entertainment & Specialist, said: “As the official broadcaster of the Invictus Games Sydney 2018, the ABC will bring together communities across Australia to celebrate the strength and spirit of our wounded, injured or ill service men and women.

“The ABC will broadcast 100 hours of live, original and curated ABC content – from Invictus Games Today to news reports, documentaries, children’s programs and live coverage of the events – that will inform, entertain and inspire audiences leading up to and during the eight days of competition.”

Other highlights include:

Fighting Spirit: The Wheeling Diggers’ Invictus Dream: An inspiring one-hour documentary following the 2018 Australian Invictus Games Wheelchair Rugby Team from trials to competition.

You Can’t Ask That: Invictus Games: A special series of six five-minute episodes of the ABC original format featuring former and current members of the 2018 Australian Invictus Games team.

Australian Story: The remarkable story of Special Forces Sniper Team Commander Garry Robinson and Invictus Games competitor, who survived a Blackhawk helicopter crash in Afghanistan in 2010. This special episode follows his recovery, including the crucial role played by his family.

A full programming slate, including Opening & Closing Ceremonies will be announced closer to the Games.
