Foxtel logo drops the dots

Another change under new CEO, Foxtel's dotty logo binned after just 14 months.

Foxtel has dropped the dots from its corporate logo.

At the launch of its new 4K channel and iQ4 this week in Sydney, the dots were nowhere to be seen, with new CEO Patrick Delany flanked by a simple “Foxtel” brand on orange backdrop.

It echoes the previous branding which referenced the historic 20th Century FOX searchlight logo.

A spokesperson confirmed to TV Tonight that the dots were no more.

But at just 14 months in existence, the 2017 refresh by design business Maud may also have been an expensive exercise, under former CEO Peter Tonagh and former Managing Director, Customer and Retail, Mark Buckman.

There was also a striking resemblance to a UK logo print specialist company Team Impression.

The removal of the dots is now taking place across several corporate platforms.

  1. Gave up our two Foxtel boxes a couple of years ago in favour of better value Netflix. But did relent recently just to get Supercars on Foxtel Now – $10/mth to get a foot in the door (reasonable) and outrageously an extra $30.00/mth for sports of which I only want Supercars (Ch506)….all in all Foxtel’s business model (channel packaging) still sucks…as soon as the Supercars season is over I’ll cancel the subscription!

  2. We cut the cord a while ago with Foxtel and haven’t looked back. We use Foxtel Now, good but cheaper, but still woefully overpriced compared to Netflix and Stan

  3. How do Foxtel even get new customers? Of the thousands and thousands of visits to shopping centres over the years, I’ve never once even been approached, spoken to or even winked at!

    1. A million customers or so, profitable, continuing to evolve their proposition. A few mistakes along the way. Obviously doing something right overall though.

They got out of shopping Centres a while back. Part of their evolution.

  4. Well good, because I was never sure what the dots were meant to represent. Buttons on a remote? A lower case ‘f’? If anything, it looked more like a ‘4’.
