Kyle pilot divides viewers, politics drives ABC News.
Ratings: Footy Show hits 2018 low in Melbourne, Seven wins Thursday.

Trial by Kyle performed well in the 16-39 demos last night, second best for the night, but older viewers were not so taken by the Pilot week offering.
On social media it polarised opinions between those who loved the trash telly angle and others variously unimpressed.
Despite a strong lead-in from The Bachelor the show finished with 385,000 viewers, landing in third place. As with all of the Pilot show offerings, there has been a hefty switch-off in the transition between shows. Why aren’t people sampling more?
The Bachelor won its slot with 807,000 viewers and topped the demos. 7:30 was strong at 681,000 viewers with events in Canberra at centrestage. ABC News also won its 7pm slot on 734,000.
Trouble continues for The Footy Show at just 120,000 in Melbourne, its lowest audience all year, thrashed by The Front Bar’s 264,000 in Melb.
Seven News and The Chase won their slots.
Seven and Nine were in a dead heat on primary channel share. ABC News was high at a 4.6% share.
Seven Network won Thursday with 28.2% then Nine 25.0%, ABC 19.7%, TEN 19.5% and SBS 7.7%.
Seven News was #1 at 960,000 / 952,000 then Home and Away (604,000), The Chase (564,000 / 340,000),  Border Security (426,000 in 4 cities), Beach Cops (373,000 in 4 cities), The Front Bar (370,000 in 4 cities) and Movie: How to be Single (216,000).
Nine News (888,000 / 838,000) was best for Nine followed by A Current Affair (687,000), Hot Seat (451,000 / 290,000), Thursday Night NRL (233,000 in 2 cities), The Footy Show RBT (239,000 in 3 cities), Driving Test was 140,000 in Melbourne.
The Bachelor (807,000) led for TEN then The Project (483,000 / 374,000), TEN Eyewitness News (414,000), Trial by Kyle (385,000), Pointless (236,000) and Law and Order: SVU (201,000).
ABC News (734,000), 7:30 (681,000), Grand Designs Australia (449,000), Sammy J (321,000), Everyone’s a Critic (262,000), Diana: 7 Days that Shook the World (260,000) and Think Tank (202,000) comprised ABC’s night.
On SBS it was Tony Robinson Down Under (265,000), 24 Hours in Police Custody (222,000), SBS World News (164,000), Counterpart (90,000 / 47,000) and The Chef’s Line (53,000).
7TWO’s Father Brown was 211,000.

HYBPA rated low on sunday nights in the half hour format before Ten stuck with it, now it’s their highest rating show! I hope they stick with Taboo sand Kinne tonight and give them a chance!
I have watched all pilot shows on Tenplay…except for Skithouse…did not even bother with that one….and I watched the whole show so as to give an informed opinion…. I did not care for the Kyle offering…but those numbers are not bad for TEN in their current climate….
I actually watched the movie, How to be Single ..although I am as old as dirt…I enjoyed it and laughed a lot.
I did not catch Trial by Kyle, but surely it couldn’t have been as set up as that stupid Pawn Stars rip off show he produced and voiced some years back ?
That was the ultimate in ( badly ) scripted “reality”….and I even think an absolutely star struck Channel Nine payed for the dross.
The dumbest scene was the “lawn mower ” guy who had to hock his lawnmower ( go figure ) and a shot of him pushing it up George Street to the pawn shop.
You would have to hog tie me, prop my eyes open and pay me a lot of money to watch Kyle, but then again I am not in any of the target demographic groups so I guess I don’t matter !
Skit House was pretty terrible unfortunately but Trial by Kyle was utter rubbish. It looked setup and staged and essentially scripted. It was truly bad. Well the 20 minutes I watched, I felt myself getting by dumber the minute so opted out. High hopes for Dave tonight though.
Skit House hasn’t been on air for years. The show was called Skit Happens
There’s probably many reasons why more people aren’t sampling the Pilot Week shows. Perhaps the lack of consistent timeslot is affecting it. If they were all on at the same time everynight, that may have helped. Skithouse which kicked off the week, was also arguably the worst of the bunch. Did that turn off viewers from bothering to watch anymore? There have been some decent shows though across the week and hopefully Ten can turn some of them into hits.
I agree. Ten should have bitten the bullet & set aside 7.30 each night for the week. Maybe it should have happened after MasterChef finished then they could have started fresh with Survivor & Bachelor
