Night racing returns for motoring fans

FOX Sports covers the inaugural Sydney SuperNight 300.

To celebrate the return of night racing to Australian soil for the first time in over 20 years, Tickford Racing’s Mark Winterbottom and Chaz Mostert upgraded their usual race suits for a glow-in-the-dark version.

FOX Sports’ coverage of the inaugural Sydney SuperNight 300 today includes every practice, qualifying session and race Live plus a single, 300km Race run in a three-hour window from 7.20pm AEST on Saturday.

Winterbottom said: “It’s great to re-live history 20 years on and do it again. I can’t wait. I think under lights it showcases our sport to the next level and Saturday night in Sydney, under lights, it doesn’t get much better than that.

“Plus 300 points, one race in the evening, it’s a completely different feel. I’m really excited and I can’t wait to get out there.”

Fans can warm up to the action with a special 90 minute edition of Supercars Trackside, Live from Sydney Motorsport Park at 4.30pm today.

The bumper episode will feature the top two Championship contenders, Scott McLaughlin and Shane Van Gisbergen, while Garth Tander and Rick Kelly take viewers on a Live commentated hot lap of the track.

Mark Skaife, Russel Ingall and Greg Murphy will also be on hand to relive the last race under lights in Australia at Calder Park in 1997.
