Did Nine just blink on the AFL Footy Show?
Next week it will avoid a head to head battle with Seven’s dominant Front Bar.
AFL plays on Thursday next week meaning The Front Bar will screen on Wednesday.
But Nine has opted to screen on Tuesday instead. That avoids it getting whipped by Seven’s show and more bad headlines.
A Nine source told TV Tonight the programming decision was due to The Block not ending until 8:50pm next Wednesday, with Bite Club ending at 9:50pm.
Following True Story with Hamish & Andy at 9:10pm in 3 states gives the show an earlier start time.
It would never have happened a year ago….

Did think a while ago perhaps Nine should move the Footy Show to Wednesdays. Would allow it to avoid clashing with Front Bar, could also schedule it consistently throughout the season and have NRL Footy Show on at the same time.
I agree . It is a risky move it airing it on a Tuesday. Clearly, Nine are worried about The Front Bar.
But dont worry, both shows are to air late as always in Sydney and Brisbane. Lol.
A risk in one way as loyal viewers won’t know it’s moved to Tuesdays! I don’t care as I don’t like it myself. Front Bar is less noisy viewing and my husband tunes in occasionally.
