Watchmen, based on the DC graphic novel from Alan Moore, is proceeding to a series at HBO under producer Damon Lindelof.
Set in an alternate history where “superheroes” are treated as outlaws, the voice cast includes Regina King, Jeremy Irons, Don Johnson, Tim Blake Nelson, Louis Gossett Jr., Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, and Aussie Adelaide Clemens.
However, Watchmen embraces the nostalgia of the original graphic novel while attempting to break new ground of its own. Lindelof, who will write and executive produce, has previously state the show will not be a re-telling of the story, but rather a new story in the same world with new characters set in the present day.
It was previously a 2009 film directed by Zack Snyder and a 2008 animated series.
HBO’s series is slated to debut in 2019.

With Lindelof at the helm this has been catapulted to the near top of my most anticipated list. Two words for that reason: The Leftovers.
Exactly.
Seriously one of the most under rated series ever – and definitely in my top 5 of all time.
I watched the movie and it was decent. I read the graphic novel and liked it. Will keep an eye on this series. Definitely gonna watch.
