For sale, one pre-loved Goodies ‘trandem.’

A bike used by Bill Oddie, Tim Brooke-Taylor & Graeme Garden is going under the hammer.

A three-seater ‘trandem’ bike used by The Goodies is up for sale.

The bike used by Bill Oddie, Tim Brooke-Taylor & Graeme Garden is going under the hammer with an estimate of £1,000 ($A1,790) to £1,500 ($A2,680).

Only three trandems were ever made for The Goodies comedy, two red ones for the BBC series and this blue one, a slightly more modern-looking one for London Weekend Television.

It was originally built in 1980 for a commercial and sold to a private collector in 1987 before being purchased by comedy trio The Trap.

It is going under the hammer on October 4. “The trandem is an iconic piece of TV history from a golden era of comedy,” said auction specialist Alastair McCrea, ahead of the sale.

  1. One of their bikes wasn’t really a ‘trandem’ as it was a tandem with a seat added at the rear for Bill Oddie (no pedals, just footrests)-the LWT series was shown on 7 in the early 80s-have some eps on Betamax somewhere-from memory it wasn’t anywhere near as good as the BBC stuff though and was never repeated here. I do wish more than the handful of BBC eps were available on DVD but it does at least include ‘Apart Height’ and ‘Icky Thump’
