Actress Jessica Marais has dropped out of upcoming Nine drama Bad Mothers and halted acting commitments for the remainder of 2018 to focus on her health.
Production on the Jungle-produced drama is due to begin in Melbourne next month.
Marais was announced as part of the ensemble following the Logie Awards, which she did not attend in July.
The Daily Telegraph reports a statement from management: “Jessica has decided to step away from acting for the remainder of 2018 to focus on her health and spend time with her family. She is disappointed that she will not be a part of the Bad Mothers production with such an incredible cast and team behind it, but knows that it is important to take time out to maintain ongoing balance and wellbeing.”
The 8 part murder drama will also feature Mandy McElhinney (Love Child, Hyde & Seek), Shalom Brune-Franklin (Doctor Doctor, Our Girl) and Jessica Tovey (Wolf Creek, Wonderland).
Nine is yet to announce a casting replacement.
