Katherine Langford to star in new US drama, Cursed.

Aussie star from 13 Reasons Why will now feature in a new Netflix drama.

Aussie Katherine Langford, who became a break-out star from Netflix drama 13 Reasons Why, will now star in a new drama, Cursed.

The Netflix drama is a spin on the legend of King Arthur based on a comic-book from Frank Miller and Tom Wheeler, yet to be published.

Langford will play Nimue described as a “teenage heroine with a mysterious gift who is destined to become the powerful (and tragic) Lady of the Lake.”

Netflix describes Cursed as “a coming-of-age story whose themes are familiar to our own time: the obliteration of the natural world, religious terror, senseless war and finding the courage to lead in the face of the impossible.”

Zetna Fuentes (How to Get Away With Murder, Shameless, The Chi) will direct the first two episodes. and serve as an executive producer with Miller and Wheeler.

Perth-born Langford earned a Golden Globe nomination for 13 Reasons Why, a role she won through a Skype audition, having only appeared in independent shorts. She recently appeared in the hit film, Love, Simon.

  1. Surprising how little publicity Katherine receives in Australia. She was exceptional in 13 Reasons and has the talent to make it huge in movies yet rarely does she feature in Australian media.
