Kerri-Anne Kennerley joins Studio 10

KAK is back to morning TV on TEN as Denise Drysdale steps back from presenting.

Kerri-Anne Kennerley is joining Studio 10 in a part-time role.

She will appear 2 days a week on Mondays & Tuesdays, in a job-sharing arrangement with Denise Scott.

The TV veteran famously hosted Good Morning Australia for TEN from 1981–1991 and Mornings with Kerri-Anne (renamed as Kerri-Anne) for Nine from 2002 – 2011, following three years on Midday.

Kennerley said: “Three decades of live television is just not enough. I can’t wait to get the adrenalin pumping again and join the wonderful Studio 10 team two days a week. There is a slight feeling of coming home to TEN, where I enjoyed over a decade of fabulous live television. I have a feeling it will be a lot of fun.”

Studio 10 Executive Producer, Lucy De Luca said: “We are so excited to have Kerri-Anne as part of the Studio 10 family. Kerri-Anne is an Aussie icon who has played a huge part in television history, so it is great to see her return to her home here at Network TEN.”

She joins as Denise Drysdale pulls back from her commitments.

Drysdale wrapped her 2018 studio commitments on Friday but is expected to file occasional stories later.

But the TEN show, broadcasting this week from Melbourne, has its work cut out with ratings hovering around just 50,000 – 60,000 a day.

“The ratings are obviously pretty shocking, to be quite frank, at the moment so let’s hope they improve,” she told  News Corp.

Seven’s Morning Show is the timeslot champ, at around 150,000.

  1. fantastic news back where she belongs on tv . Love Kerri Anne so much personality so much class such a wonderful interviewer shame its only two days a week as they will be the only two days i will be watching .Imagine Kerri Anne and Lisa Wilkinson on GMA if ten ever did a breakfast show again .

  2. A wise move. Kerri-Anne has been in the business long enough to offer an alternative opinion. I just wish some commercial network would offer her a midday show. Australian television clearly lacks a variety show where up and coming bands or national and international actors can promote their latest production. I’m over reality nonsense. Thank goodness for Netflix.

  3. At last – a genuine reason to watch Studio 10. KAK is one of the best TV interviewers in the game, so let’s hope they put that to work. And having worked with her in the past, KAK is strictly no-nonsense and will not tolerate any silly carry on among that team. KAK joining this show might prove to be gold – both in front of and behind the cameras. Welcome back – TV needs you right now.

  4. This is perfect, this was my pick to replace ding dong, which by the way thank god she’s gone. KAK at least’s knows how to interview guests and is the perfect choice. KAK also hosted Midday for 3 year, 96, 97, 98.
