Season 9 of Shameless begins on Thursday on Showcase. This has just debuted in the US.

Emmy Rossum recently announced that she would leave the series following the ninth season.

Frank’s latest sexual escapades get him into trouble with the Hopkins Academy PTA. Fiona struggles with her decision to bail Ian out of jail, while he continues his Gay Jesus antics inside. Lip juggles taking care of Xan with a potential romance. Debbie fights for equal pay at work, and Carl has to prove himself at military school. Kev and V have trouble with the twins without Svetlana.

7:30pm Thursday on Showcase.

  1. Over 8 seasons, there has never been a single dull episode of this wonderful series… which in my book is an incredible achievement. However I owe that that to the remarkable work of Emmy Rossum as Fiona. I am gutted she’s leaving and I honestly feel that if the main Gallagher is moving on, the show should too. It’s always been about the family sticking together… so if the glue that sticks it all together is removed, it will fall apart.
