Tom Arnold & Mark Burnett in scuffle

Altercation at a pre-Emmys party takes place just days before profile documentary goes to air, including in Australia.

Tom Arnold has claimed Hollywood producer Mark Burnett attacked him at a pre-Emmys party, coincidentally occurring just days before his documentary The Hunt for the Trump Tapes screens.

But Burnett’s wife, Roma Downey, claims it was Arnold who actually ambushed him.

“Mark Burnett just went apeshit & choked me at this huge Emmy party then he ran away with his torn pink shirt & missing gold chain. I’m waiting for LAPD,” Arnold tweeted.

After Roma Downey posted a pic of a bruise on her hand, Arnold fired back, “Bullshit. You lie like your crazy husband attacked me you psycho. I’m filing a police report & suing you for defamation.”

Arnold has made allegations about Donald Trump occurring when he appeared on the Burnett-produced Apprentice.

At the time of publication, TMZ said, “We checked with LAPD … so far no report.”

Arnold, who was briefly on I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here last year (and threatening legal action which is yet to materialise), is the host of The Hunt for the Trump Tapes which is fast-tracked to SBS VICELAND at 8pm Wednesday.

Updated: Variety reports, Arnold went to the West L.A. division of the LAPD on Monday morning and made a report for battery, said LAPD Officer Rosario Herrera. No further details were immediately available.
