US comedy You’re The Worst will have a screening on SBS VICELAND.
The 2014 series created by Stephen Falk (Orange Is the New Black, Weeds) centres around Jimmy (Chris Geere), a self-involved writer, and Gretchen (Aya Cash), a self-destructive Los Angeles PR executive, and their two friends Edgar (Desmin Borges) and Lindsay.
Guest stars have included Sandra Bernhard, Henry Rollins, Lou Diamond Phillips and more. The show has received favourable reviews, notably from S2 onwards.
While S1 begins in early November, all four seasons at forty-nine episodes will be available at SBS on Demand.
You’re the Worst isn’t a typical romantic comedy. The critically-acclaimed series follows narcissistic and stubborn Jimmy Shive-Overly (Chris Geere), who inadvertently finds himself hooking up with cynical, people-pleasing, and self-destructive Gretchen Cutler (Aya Cash), at a mutual friend’s wedding.
They go home together and find they’re beginning to fall for each other. Despite their shared cynicism about love, both grow closer and become more involved romantically, though their cynicism often gets in the way.
Jimmy and Gretchen navigate fear, heartbreak, ardour, and other feelings, and their situation seems to establish that non-traditionalists sometimes make great partners – but not forever.
Rounding out the cast is Desmin Borges, who plays Edgar Quintero, Jimmy’s once homeless war veteran roommate who, having recently learned to manage his PTSD, has gotten a new job and is navigating the world of television comedy writing, and Kether Donohue as Lindsay Jillian, Gretchen’s best friend and former partner in crime who is
recently divorced and taking her first steps toward life as a single, professional woman.
You’re The Worst S1 starts on SBS VICELAND from Monday November, 5 at 10.00pm.

I missed this post, I just spotted the review in the Sun Herald where the reviewer describes it as “tries to be edgy but is too predictable to appeal to anyone over the age of 25. […] Their daggy besties complete the cliche”. This would seem to prove that their reviewer only watched 5 minutes of the episode, if that is all they can take from cleverly written and brilliantly acted and directed sitcom. There are 5 seasons of You’re The Worst, S5 got bumped to Jan. 2019 on FXX. This will be the 3rd time the Pilot has aired on TV here (Ten aired S1 1.5 times). At least SBS are offering S2-4 as well.
Not sure, they recently retrenched a bunch of reviewers. Or maybe they just didn’t connect with it.
When Showcase announced their FX output deal I was hopeful it would also include FXX originals so You’re the Worst would finally resurface. But seems like it wasn’t the case. I guess it also means Comedy is left to buy Archer and Always Sunny by individual seasons. Seems like a missed opportunity by Foxtel if this is the case anyway. But back to the story, very glad it’s resurfaced and it’s on my watch list!
Enjoyed s1 when it was on Eleven, so I’m glad to see it return and happy to be able to binge it On Demand.
Would have been better on ABC2 with no ads, but at least the later seasons are getting an airing here now-‘Last Man On Earth’ and ‘Man Seeking Woman’ need rescue as well!

Vaguely remember You’re The Worst being on Eleven previously
Have seen some of Season 1 – its one of the most dysfunctional dark and hilarious comedies I have seen in the last few years, worth a watch. Script is very snappy.
