Bachelor fizzer: “What a giant waste of time that was”

Honey Badger.....you had one job.

Bachelor fans have taken to social media to vent their fury at Nick “Honey Badger” Cummins, producers and TEN after he failed to choose a winner in the season finale.

In a Bachelor twist more bizarre than an episode of UnREAL, Cummins told both Sophie and Brittany he was not able to commit to either, despite both following the format traditions of admitting they had fallen for him by the finale.

First he told Sophie, “I like you a lot, Sophie. And when I say those three words, I want to mean it with all my heart. And we’d both then be happy. True happiness. I’m not able with all my conscious to whole wholeheartedly commit to you. Right now at this point, our journey comes to an end.”

Then he told Brittany, “I won’t be entering any relationships if I can’t give 100 per cent of me. I’m not looking for a girlfriend, I’m looking for a life partner. And right now I can’t give 100 per cent of me to you. My head is very cloudy. Right now I’m a little bit lost. And because of that I have to say this time has come to an end and let you go.”

Leaving the New Caledonian location, a stunned Brittany summed it up best: “What a giant waste of time that was,” before heading straight to Sophie to commiserate. The audience feels the same.

“I feel sorry for him” said a stunned Sophie.

“It’s Nick’s loss,” Brittany replied.

Meanwhile Cummins has filmed one interview for TEN and fled to Papua New Guinea. But his brand will surely take a big hit from this anti-climax, just as he is about to release a new book.

The finale fail echoes the backflip by Blake Garvey in 2014 who dumped Sam Frost after an on-air proposal.
