ABC’s News Breakfast was delayed by 30 minutes this morning due to industry-default phrase: technical issues.
The show normally starts at 6am, prompting hosts to social media to keep viewers informed.
Virginia Trioli tweeted, “Good morning and apologies!! We have super-big technical issues and won’t see you til 6:30am but please stick around and watch the Test Pattern til then!”
Hamish Macdonald also tweeted, “Big technical issues at @BreakfastNews this morning, so we are off-air until 6.30am. In the meantime, what’s a 7 and 8 letter word for a ‘senior parliamentarian’?”
By 6:30am order was restored.

Loving him on Breakfast – didn’t realise he is on the Project too. Breath of fresh air, and pushing Virginia’s assumptions a little.
Hamish is quite the sight for sore (well, tired) eyes so early in the morning
i didn’t know that Hamish worked for both the project and abc
Same as Waleed Aly….
He’s really going to get tired doing an early morning 3 hours and then the Project in the evening? Who does he really work for, and who is loaning him out?
Freelancing is common in the entertainment industry and very necessary for many, so good luck to him.
