Call for Entries: Lottie Lyell Scholarship

Initiative will support 2 women to attend industry trade events in Europe.

Dame Changer and Stan have opened entries for the inaugural Lottie Lyell Scholarship, an initiative which honours Australian screen legend Lottie Lyell and supports women in the Australian screen industry to develop their skills to meet their professional goals.

The Lottie Lyell Scholarship will be used to provide financial support for two Australian women to attend Creative England’s Market Trader programme to be held in London this November and at the European Film Market at Berlinale in February 2-19.

Dame Changer’s Heather Oxenham said: “We are incredibly pleased and excited to be working with Stan and Creative England on the next stage of development of our international program opportunity. This is our first international partnership, and we can’t think of anyone better suited or more closely aligned to Dame Changer than Creative England. Our organisations are bound by our passion for film and to drive real and effective change for women.”

Mike Sneesby, CEO of Stan said “Stan is proud to work with Dame Changer on this important initiative and the Lottie Lyell Scholarship in helping to advance the careers of female practitioners in the Australian screen industry. As a pioneering platform in Australia, Stan is committed to creating local content showcasing the wealth of talent we have in this country. This ground-breaking program is an important part of that.”

Haley Edwards, Creative England’s Programme Manager – Content & Enterprise said “International markets are a fantastic opportunity for film professionals to showcase their slate, make contacts and conduct the business side of film. But without the knowledge and understanding of how to close deals, who to target and how to navigate the market, attendance can be overwhelming, costly and unsuccessful. Market Trader offers this insight through an intense programme of activity whilst fully supporting participants on the journey and working with Dame Changer’s provides an additional opportunity to extend the producer’s relationships internationally.”

Applications close on the 27th November 2018.
