Daylight Saving is now in force in NSW, Victoria, Tasmania, South Australia and ACT , which will impact on Live shows for viewers in Queensland, Western Australia and the Northern Territory.
Sunrise, Today and ABC News Breakfast will screen AEDT with delays for others -but News Breakfast remains Live on ABC News. Some have been known to switch Live into local regions when big news breaks, especially in relation to weather or bushfires.
The Morning Show, Today Extra, Studio 10, The Project, Insiders, The Daily Edition, 7:30, A Current Affair, The Drum, The Feed will all air AEDT.
Q&AÂ is AEDT but streams Live on iview and airs Live on ABC News: 9:05pm SA, 8:35pm QLD, 8:05pm NT and 6:35pm WA. It remains 9:35pm locally on ABC but Twitter messages may be affected.
Sports will also be affected over summer.
Fans of Reality TV will need to be mindful of social media use in order to avoid spoilers, notably for Australian Survivor, The Bachelorette, The Block.
Monday’s Doctor Who will air at 5:55pm on ABC, but is added to iview at 5:45pm so Qld, SA, WA & NT viewers can catch it there at the same time as everybody.
Foxtel viewers not on AEDTÂ will also need to remember those +2 channels as everything shifts by one hour.
And as I always say…. check your smoke detector battery too!

Why we have daylight saving is a mystery to me. The original reason for its introduction was to give us an extra hour of usable sunlight. This would work well if the evening news ( which many watch ) was put back to 7pm . But because they are at 6pm we are all coming in out of the new perfectly good daylight to watch them, thus cancelling the benefit. whats the use .
I’m sure the benefits are not reliant on the 6pm news.
I would move to Queensland except it is too hot for me….and for the record…I did not vote for it… and it is fading my curtains… ?
Buy decent curtains (only old curtains have this issue)
What annoys me is now for the next 6 months Foxtel is out of sync, being in QLD everything is now an hour earlier. Works good some shows, others not so much.
Ughhhh from a Queenslander. So annoying when we get the ‘breaking news live’ and it’s an hour behind. Still a mystery to me how something that is an hour old can be called ‘live’ ?
I support that “Ughhhh” 100%, I have no idea why SE Qld at the very least do not follow the 1 hour time shift.
Because SE Queensland is part of Queensland. Crossing the border from the GC to northern NSW fantasy time zone is a laugh. Nothing much happening in the northern tip of NSW, we invite them to reject the “wind the clocks forward to pretend time”. Live in the real world/ real time, join Queensland.
AEDT is complicated isn’t it! Queensland now an hour behind and Western Australia now 3 hours behind!!
