Jo Porter in Top 25 Global Women in Television

Fremantle Director of Drama is on industry power list.

Fremantle Director of Drama has been named in the Hollywood Reporter’s Top 25 Women in Global Television.

She is the only Aussie-based exec to make the list, joining the likes of ITV’s Polly Hill, BBC’s Charlotte Moore and ABC Studios International’s Keli Lee.

Porter’s long-running women’s prison drama Wentworth (she is an executive producer) has sold across Europe, Africa and Asia, and Fremantle’s upcoming miniseries Picnic at Hanging Rock, starring a post-Game of Thrones Natalie Dormer, has racked up impressive broadcast partners, including BBC 2 in the U.K. and Amazon Prime in the U.S. “Taking Australian content to the world … and seeing our stories find passionate global audiences,” she says, “is really encouraging.”

Porter’s other credits include Packed to the Rafters, All Saints and Always Greener. She is currently developing The Narrow Road to the Deep North.
