Detective Julien Baptiste returns to SBS with his second crime story.

Season 2 of The Missing begins on SBS next week.

The series sees Tcheky Karyo reprising his role as detective Julien Baptiste, with a completely new story, location and cast. His character has since received his own spin-off series, Baptiste.

It kicks off with a double episode before settling into single eps the following week.

A young British woman stumbles through the streets of her German hometown and collapses. Her name is Alice Webster, and she has been missing for eleven years. Alice’s return sends shockwaves through the small community of Eckhausen, especially when it is revealed that she may hold vital clues to the whereabouts of another missing girl.

Season Two, Episode One: Come Home
A young British woman stumbles through the streets of Eckhausen in Germany and collapses. Her name is Alice Webster – and she was abducted from the same town eleven years ago. As the search for the abductor gathers pace, Alice also appears to hold vital clues to the whereabouts of a second missing girl, Sophie Giroux.

Episode Two: The Turtle And The Stick
After Alice returns to her family home, the Websters struggle to deal with the trauma she has suffered. As Matthew is faced with an unbearable request, Gemma’s suspicions about what happened to her daughter begin to grow.
