Season Two of French-made Agatha Christie-style mysteries will drop tomorrow.

Season Two of French-made Agatha Christie’s Criminal Games will drop on SBS on Demand tomorrow.

Les petits meurtres d’Agatha Christie originally aired in 2009 but continues in 2018.

All six episodes will be available.

Agatha Christie’s world-famous mysteries are delightfully adapted in a seductive and witty new French series. Set in the 1950s, these iconic stories introduce new investigators in classic Christie style: Chief Inspector Laurence, a man of class and refined taste, and the young ambitious journalist Alice Avril – along with Laurence’s ever-loyal secretary, Marlene.

  1. I like French comedy, they have not lost the knack for sight gags and sexual innuendo minus the political correctness, being chauvinist or sexist is not yet a sin in France as is smoking cigarettes before and after sex. TV producers are getting too hung up about offending someone nowadays.

  2. The French make 3 or 4 of these a year. The first block, 11 eps (2009-12) starred Antoine Dulery and Marius Colucci. After they left it was rebooted with Laurence (Samuel Labarthe) and Avril (Blandine Bellavoir) as leads. They have made 23 episodes since 2013. SBS broadcast the first 6 episodes (the first 1.5 French seasons) of the 2nd block over Summer. They are good fun with Swan Laurence, a dashing, sexist, womaning detective, and Alice Avril, a nosey journalist who wants off the local paper’s agony aunt column, inserting themselves into versions of classic Agatha Christie stories.
