US bans Heathers finale

Episode too hot for the US is screening in Australia on Stan.

The Paramount Network will finally screen the first season of Heathers in the USA from October 25.

The series was delayed amid concerns over its content.

But the series has undergone cuts and the episode 10 finale will not screen.

“I am beyond excited that American audiences will finally get to see Heathers,” said series showrunner Jason Micallef. “Obviously I wish fans could see the tenth episode but the producers and I felt strongly about not changing anything in it, and so, it’s been considered too controversial for U.S. audiences. Still, every day at this job is a delightful dream so it’s hard to complain. Plus, what matters most is fans will now get to see the satire we all love so much.”

The series began screening in full in Australia on Stan last week.

  1. I can see why it’s been banned, it deal’s with a character committing suicide in every episode. that being said, I’ve seen episode one… It was holding a mirror up to today’s youth and social media culture.

I think the issue is simply that, when you hold a mirror up to society, especially in America people get offended, You can’t tell the truth. Fake news all the way. Mass shootings in schools aren’t that bad, We have the right to have a gun, but that doesn’t mean you should have a gun.

  2. Paramount network made no sense with this. They invest in a show that of course was going to offend some, but had no follow through. The show was great, in vein with funny, out there teen tv/movies.

The idea of banning the finale makes 0 sense, it’s no worse than the other episodes

  3. Can we please find something new to be “outraged” about? This show’s in the same vein as “Insatiable”. Mindless, entertaining, rubbish. Love it!
