ABC plays hard on Wednesday, as 10 struggles.

While ABC kicked goals with light entertainment & comedy, 10 struggled to stay above 400,000 viewers. From 7:30pm the night was a battle between Seven and ABC, with the latter buoyed by older viewers.

Hard Quiz was the top entertainment show of the night at a bumper 741,000 viewers, ahead of 7:30 on 663,000, Border Security (when was the last time that topped the demos?), Emergency Call, Young Sheldon, Jamie & the Nonnas and Child Genius. 

Mad as Hell continued ABC’s run, as the second-highest entertainment show, on 683,000 ahead of 9-1-1‘s 548,000 (still holding up well for a US import), The Big Bang Theory, Blind Date and DNA Nation.

Seven News, ABC News and The Chase won earlier slots.

Seven network won Wednesday with 30.8% then Nine 25.9%, ABC 19.9%, 10 15.9% and SBS 7.6%.

Seven News was #1 for Seven with 911,000 / 888,000 then Border Security (642,000), Home and Away (641,000), Emergency Call (624,000), 9-1-1 (548,000), The Chase (538,000 / 350,000) and Criminal Minds (289,000 / 143,000).

Nine News (844,000 / 839,000) led for Nine then A Current Affair (671,000), Young Sheldon (547,000 / 447,000), The Big Bang Theory (466,000 / 448,000), Hot Seat (429,000 / 288,000) and Manifest (257,000).

Hard Quiz (741,000), Shaun Micallef’s Mad as Hell (683,000), ABC News (679,000), 7:30 (663,000), Tomorrow Tonight (457,000), The Set (162,000), and Adam Hills: The Last Leg and Grand Designs (both 154,000) comprised ABC’s night.

The Project (422,000 / 247,000) led for 10 followed by Jamie & the Nonnas (396,000), 10 News First (370,000), Blind Date (256,000) and Pointless (228,000). A Million Little Things tanked at just 88,000.

On SBS it was the final Child Genius on 206,000, DNA Nation (153,000), SBS World News (123,000) and The Missing on just 77,000.

Something on ABC KIDS called Wanda and the Alien topped multichannels at 153,000.

  1. I watched Jamie & the Nonnas …I like Jamie…Blind Date was on late…TV was just running…not watching…It did not grab me at all….I certainly would not go out of my way to watch it…
