Bloom will be he first new Australian drama of 2019.

Stan has dropped a lengthy teaser featuring ‘Gwen Reed’ portrayed by both Phoebe Tonkin as ‘Young Gwen’ (The Originals, Safe Harbour, The Vampire Diaries, The Affair) and Jacki Weaver (Silver Linings Playbook, Animal Kingdom).

Bloom is described as a mystery drama about the scarcity of time and the choices we make. Beyond the impulses of youth and the regrets of age lies a secret. One year after a devastating flood kills five locals in an idyllic country town, a mysterious new plant appears with the power to restore youth. It’s a gift powerful beyond wildest imaginings. A phenomenon so formidable that attempting to harness its potency means re-evaluating everything that’s important. It’s a miracle some will kill to keep secret.

The cast also includes Bryan Brown, Ryan Corr, Daniel Henshall, Sam Reid, Genevieve Morris, Anne Charleston, Terry Norris, Amali Golden, Nikki Shiels, Tessa Rose, John Stanton and Rod Mullinar.

Bloom is created by Glen Dolman (Hawke, High Life, The Ark and the Ardvaark) is produced by Sue Seeary (Love Child, House Husbands, Bite Club) and shot by Geoffrey Hall (Wolf Creek, Red Dog, Chopper). Parts 1-3 have been directed by John Curran (Tracks, Chappaquiddick, Praise), with Mat King (Pine Gap, Dr Who, Law & Order: UK) directing Parts 3-6.
