CJZ apologises after ‘producer rant’ lashes business affairs depts

"If he offended anybody, he's sorry and so are we," says CEO after business affairs depts cop a shellacking.

Producers CJZ (Gruen, Julia Zemiro’s Home Delivery, Bondi Rescue, Street Smart) have apologised after outspoken co-founder Nick Murray (pictured) let rip during a session at the Screen Forever conference this week.

Last night at the SPA Awards CJZ Group CEO Matt Campbell accepted an award for Gruen as Light Entertainment Series Production of the Year.

Campbell thanked the Gruen team and ABC adding, “…particularly the ABC business affairs people who have to deal wth Nick Murray.

“As I’ve got the stage, if anyone was in the room yesterday when there was a classic ‘Nick Murray rant’ … if he offended anybody, he’s sorry and so are we.”

Mumbrella reported earlier Murray told Screen Forever delegates, “We have a chart of arsehole business affairs departments in my office, and we rank them, and the ranking – there’s a lot of competition to get to the top of that chart.”

He added, “I get the feeling that the business affairs departments now think their job is to try and stop shows – to make it as difficult for us as possible.”
