  1. I’m showing signs of Dyslexic Acronym Syndrome, Have You Paid Bloody Attention vs HYBPA. One of my mobile numbers contain 24356. Perhaps I should contact HWHAP?

  2. I dare say Junior Eurovision was barely a blip on the radar given its timeslot and seemingly very little promotion. Possibly also not helped that ABC gleefully tweeted the winner and Australia’s ranking hours before they put the show to air. No need to watch it!

  3. I always find it amusing when conservatives rail against the so called elites that are opposed to Trump, when Trump himself represents the ultimate elite, the ageing white male billionaire class. The ratings for Murphy Brown aren’t all that surprising because American scripted shows generally do not rate in this country anymore.

    1. Thank you so much for highlighting this point. I have been going crazy saying exactly the same thing for the past couple of years. I’m always surprised that the common man would vote for a rich white dude who couldn’t care less about them. PS I actually enjoyed the Murphy Brown reboot and will watch more.

    2. Just in case estherhoffman’s “conservative” comment was aimed at me personally – full disclosure: I’ve only ever voted for the ALP. But if anyone associated with Bill Shorten et al were to exhibit the kind of up-themselves rhetoric displayed by Candice Bergen and Diane English in that show, I’d consider changing to the other side. I don’t think it’s gonna happen ‘cos fortunately in Oz we have the Greens for that!

    3. Yet the Democrats held and won seats in the House where ever household income was over $US120k. Republicans did well where it isn’t. Trump isn’t of the working class, but he is implementing the policies they voted for.

  4. Having watched the first episode last night, I have to thank the embarrassing, cringe-worthy re-boot of Murphy Brown for explaining something to me that I, like many, have pondered for the last two years. Seeing those old self-styled “progressives” trot out their elitist view of the world finally brought home why so many ordinary – and otherwise normal – Americans voted for (and still support) Trump!

  5. No surprise at Murphy Brown numbers. In this day and age you’ve got to fast track. I’ve seen most of this season of MB on You Tube already.
It’s heavily focussed on Donald Trump which gets boring very quickly.
There could be some surprise in that the numbers, I thought would have been worse.

  6. Missed HyPBA last night. Hopefully it returns in late January rather than May. Can’t see any reason why it can’t cast and crew still get a well deserved two month break (longer than The Project for example which produces many more hours of content a year) and the radio regulars will be back on deck by then. Ten will be wanting it back ASAP….

      1. I see so the producers are consumed with other projects. I think I recall though Tom Gleisner saying last year he hoped for an earlier Return Of HYPBA. If HYPBA does not return early maybe Ten plans to air Hughesy We Have A Problem in the slot, not quite the same but still an amusing show with a similar audience which could build a following with time and solid lead ins.
