Exodus in the west as Nine News director resigns

A day of upheaval in the west with Shaun Menegola now the third senior role to quit STW9.

Perth Nine News director Shaun Menegola has resigned after 5 years, effective immediately.

Menegola previously enjoyed roles at the Seven and TEN Networks and at The West Australian prior to his appointment under former STW9 managing director David Mott. During his term he introduced two live and local early morning news bulletins at 7.00am and 8.30am weekdays, which then increased to four.

Managing Director at Nine Perth, Clive Bingwa, said: “We thank Shaun for his energy and effort in producing a quality news product and wish him all the best.”

Deputy Director of News Vanessa Beasley also resigned this week indicating she wanted to spend more time with family.

But STW9 is also facing the departure of Programmer & Marketing Manager Graeme Hill who announced his resignation earlier this month. He departs in 2 weeks.

It has been a day of upheaval in the west with Brett McCarthy sudden resignation as Editor of The West Australian.

Nine Network Director of Regional News, Michael Dalton, will join as acting News Director immediately.
