Netflix announces first music competition show

Netflix is getting into the music competition space with a US-based hunt for the breakout hip-hop star.

Rhythm + Flow, to be co-produced by John Legend, will feature Cardi B, Chance the Rapper, and T.I. as judges, with additional artists and industry VIPs to be announced.

Auditions will take place across the United States, with established rappers from each city to help seek out the best unsigned hip-hop artists.

Legend has previously produced US drama Underground.

The 10 part series will screen in 2019.
