Newman contract extended by 3 months, talks continue…

Sam Newman’s discussions with Nine continue after the network extended his contract by another 3 months.

The Herald Sun reported his current contract technically expired last Wednesday but that both parties have bought time to explore options.

Nine is understood to still be evaluating what AFL show it will have on Thursday nights in 2019, despite a belated inclusion of The Footy Show on its Upfronts list.

Rumours suggest Eddie McGuire’s JAM TV production company will get the gig, but it’s not clear if that includes McGuire on air.

Nine is staying silent on all further speculation for now.
