  1. Unfortunately Seven will probably use the poor ratings for Orange Is The New Brown as justification for their aversion to risk taking and their claim that cooking and dating shows are one of the few program with ‘broad’ audiences.

    1. Fair enough too isn’t it? If a big enough audience doesn’t watch, you can hardly blame them for shying away somewhat. They gave it an 8:30pm slot with a compatible youth-skewing lead-in on a night with pretty weak competition. Catch-up/online ratings may help it, but at the end of the day, they need a certain amount of eyeballs to turn a profit.

      1. The show still takes a break in the UK for 6 weeks. Due to the weeks were it only aired 4 a week. (Was it off over the games this year?) 8 episodes a week seems like overkill for a viewer though

    1. They are continuing into the non-ratings perdiod more often the last couple of years and still returning earlier than the official ratings period. I think they would potentially have too many episodes to squeeze into summer if they dropped one a week for the 45ish weeks it is on air.
However with over 90 minutes of BHG rating well on a Friday they will not revert back to the 5 nights a week. Although initially H&A was bumped on Friday due to the AFL, not sure how this works in Victoria with 90 minute lifestyle?

  2. Did anyone notice the F bomb dropped in How to Stay Married? Is that allowed in the 7:30pm timeslot? Wondering if that one slipped through due to the timeslot change…

    1. This was raised about ARIAs too. About 3 or 4 yrs ago Classification allowed M at 7:30pm, which is what it was classed. There is no issue. In fact PG also allows language, it depends on the context and amount of use. There is no list of acceptable or non-acceptable words.

      1. You’ll struggle to name a movie/show that’s classified PG with an F-word though.

As we know M (shows only) are allowed at 7:30pm, so would’ve been fine.

I’ll sound like a publicist for Ten here:
“It is the responsibility of parents/guardians to check the classification and supervise their children, to ensure a program is suitable”.

    2. Beckala, it’s an Australian comedy, so it’s compulsory to drop the F bomb. How else are the writers supposed to get laughs? If there was no swearing then they’d be forced to write actual jokes.

    3. I noticed the same happened on Graham Norton the other night when Joe Lycett said it. Ten might want to pay closer attention now that they’ve moved it to 7.30 Sundays (which I don’t like. It’s very much a Friday/Saturday show).
