People’s Choice Awards 2018: guide

Melissa McCarthy to receive the People's Icon Award at today's awards screening Live on E!

E! will today screen its very first People’s Choice Awards after taking ownership of the event from Procter & Gamble.

Melissa McCarthy will receive the People’s Icon Award.

“Melissa McCarthy is a multi-talented actor, writer, producer and director and who has starred in some of the most iconic movies and television shows of the past decade,” said Jen Neal, Executive Producer, Live Events, Executive Vice President, Marketing for E! “She is beloved by the people and we couldn’t think of anyone more fitting or deserving to honour as ‘The People’s Icon of 2018.’”

The Walking Dead leads the TV nominations.

It airs Live in Australia a 1pm AEDT on E!
