As Sherlock (Benedict Cumberbatch) waits for Moriarty (Andrew Scott) to make his posthumous move, an intriguing puzzle captures the mercurial detective’s attention. But this case is more dangerous than he could have imagined. There is a dark purpose at work. Something with its roots deep in Mary Watson’s (Amanda Abbington) past. Sherlock and John will face their most chilling enemies yet. Everything they know will be tested. Everyone they know is under threat. Is the game finally over?

As Sherlock waits to see where Moriarty will make his posthumous move, a mysterious case baffles Scotland Yard – but Sherlock is more interested in a seemingly trivial detail. Why is someone destroying images of the late Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher? Is there a madman on the loose? Or is there a much darker purpose at work? Something with its roots deep in Mary Watson’s past…

Episode 2: “The Lying Detective”

Sherlock faces perhaps the most chilling enemy of his long career: the powerful and seemingly unassailable Culverton Smith (Toby Jones) – a man with a very dark secret indeed. Estranged from his best friend John Watson, Sherlock seems to have descended into hell. Is there any way back from the abyss into which the detective has descended?

Episode 3: “The Final Problem”

In the final episode of this series, long-buried secrets finally catch up with the Baker Street duo. Someone has been playing a very long game indeed and, alone and defenceless, Sherlock and Dr Watson face their greatest ever challenge. Is the game finally over?
