Here are the highlights for both SBS VICELAND and SBS On Demand in 2019 (and a few in 2018).

The Orville Season 2

From Emmy® Award-winning executive producer and creator Seth MacFarlane, The Orville is a live-action, one-hour space adventure series set 400 years in the future that follows The U.S.S. Orville, a mid-level exploratory spaceship. The ship’s mixed human and alien crew face the wonders and dangers of outer space, while also dealing with the problems of everyday life. The ensemble series stars MacFarlane as the ship’s Captain, Ed Mercer, and Adrianne Palicki as his ex-wife, who’s assigned as his First Officer. Now, the Orville is back with more missions and more action.

Brooklyn Nine-Nine Season 6

After its shock cancellation in May, Brooklyn Nine-Nine is back by popular demand following fan outcry. There’s a feeling of change in the bullpen, but that won’t stop recently married Jake Peralta and the detectives of the Nine-Nine from taking on New York’s criminal underbelly once again under the stern guidance of Captain Ray Holt – or is it soon to be ‘Commissioner Holt’?

Homeland Season 8

Season 8 is the final season of Homeland, and it takes off from the conclusion of Season 7 and its eerily accurate reflection of the world’s current political and national security landscape. Carrie Mathison (Danes) worked to expose a vast international conspiracy determined to bring down the Keane Administration. Carrie, along with the administration’s new National Security Advisor Saul Berenson (Patinkin) are thrown into a labyrinth of double agents, social media bots, ‘fake news’ charlatans and Russian active measures – all designed to wreak havoc on America’s democratic institutions.

Wellington Paranormal Season 2

Officers Minogue and O’Leary of the Wellington Police’s fledgling Paranormal Unit battle the sinister and the supernatural in this strange lovechild of the ‘X-Files’ and ‘Highway Patrol’. The show is a perfect mix of understated Kiwi Comedy and found footage horror. Wellington Paranormal is directed, produced and edited by comedy legend Jemaine Clement, with the help of director Jackie Van Beek and executive producer Taika Waititi.

Dark Side of the Ring

From the tragic death of Bruiser Brody to the legacy of Fabulous Moolah, the oldest female wrestler to win a title, Dark Side of the Ring is a documentary series that pieces together the untold history of professional wrestling and examines the blurred lines between real-life people and the characters they portray.

SBS’s award-winning news and current affairs program The Feed returns to SBS VICELAND, bringing young Australians a unique mix of news, satire, live interviews and in-depth investigative reporting every night at 7.30pm. The channel will continue its run of 8 Out Of 10 Cats Does Countdown, Full Frontal With Samantha Bee, and Richard Ayoade is back with another season of Travel Man.

Pagan Peak

When a gruesomely staged body is found, propped up on a mountain pass in the Alps close to the German- Austrian border, two detectives are sent to investigate. For German detective Ellie, this is the first real challenge of her career. Her Austrian counterpart Gedeon seems to have lost any ambitions in his job. Very soon, they discover more crime scenes with symbolically posed victims, reminiscent of pagan rituals. It all seems to be part of a bigger, sinister plan.

Project Blue Book

A dramatic series from Academy Award Winner, Robert Zemeckis, chronicling the true, top secret United States Air Force investigations into UFO-related phenomena in the 1950s and 60s known as Project Blue Book. The series follows Dr. J. Allen Hynek (Aiden Gillen), a brilliant college professor recruited by the U.S. Air Force to spearhead this clandestine operation that researched thousands of cases, many of which were never solved. Each episode will draw from the actual files, blending UFO theories with authentic historical events from one of the most mysterious eras in United States history.

Trapped Season 2

In Season 2 of Baltasar Kormakur’s Icelandic thriller, we follow Police Inspector Andri and his new partner Hinrika, who has been promoted since the events of the first season. Andri is working in his old job in Reykjavik when he is entrusted with a controversial and highly political case – an impoverished sheep farmer from the Icelandic Highlands has set himself on fire in front of the capital’s government headquarters, trying to kill the Minister of Economic Affairs. Initial research leads Andri to a remote valley in the north of the island. The picturesque mountainous landscape turns out to be a place of bitter conflict – the local farmers are fighting against the interests of international business sharks, driving the expansion of a state-of-the-art geothermal centre.

Robbie Hood

Robbie Hood is a mischievous 6 x 10 minute online comedy series exclusively for SBS On Demand. It’s the heart-warming story of three friends who are rectifying injustices they see in their community. While they may have the best of intentions, they don’t always go about it in the right way. The Alice Springs based cast features some exciting new talent, who will all be seen for the very first time on Australian screens. The series is directed by Dylan River, and is a Ludo Studio and Since1788 production for SBS. Principal production investment from Screen Australia in association with SBS. Financed with support from Screen Territory with Screen Queensland.

Zero Zero Zero

Starring Gabriel Byrne, Dane Dehaan, Harold Torres, and Andrea Riseborough, Zero Zero Zero takes you deep into the dark mysteries of the world cocaine trade, from its production, to its final delivery. It is a trip inside a complex system tainted by violence but also by dexterity and imagination. From the jungle to the skyscrapers, from Mexico to Paris, passing through equatorial Africa, the Maghreb and Calabria, the dangerous journey is seen from multiple yet interconnected perspectives.
