  1. I have high hopes for How to Stay Married, but so far something doesn’t feel quite right. In terms of the format, it feels a little like Rosehaven, but not as good. Lisa McCune is the lynchpin (as always) and the neighbour couple are great. But I find the 13 yo girl has been portrayed like a 16yo, and quite obnoxious. Overall, somehow the comedy isn’t quite there yet, but I will stick with it, as it may settle in. Another similar (but funnier) show is The Letdown.

        1. I’m not a viewer of the show. From what I have read I am very sceptical of the authenticity of the show and its participants. Sure some of them have found love, but most are there for other reasons.

  2. Nine were a bit naughty last night (here in Victoria at least). Lots of promotions for ‘New’ Driving Test and ‘New’ RBT only to find when the timeslot actually came round that two repeats of RBT were screened. I understand the logic of repeats at the end of the ratings year but a little cruel to promise something and not deliver. No updates to EPGs either until just as the program started.

  3. I don’t think most fairytales involve the protagonist exchanging saliva with a dozen or so people, making out semi-nude on national TV, and settling for a non-committal “commitment” ring that won’t lead to marriage.

  4. Orange Is The New Brown took a nose-dive in the ratings. We don’t seem to ‘get’ sketch in this country. If you look at the cutting edge sketch being done overseas (Key & Peele, Portlandia, Adult Swim, Catherine Tate, Amy Schumer, Bob & David), we’ve got nothing comparable. Not even on YouTube. Here in Oz we can’t seem to get beyond shallow parody.
