Will The A-List ever get to air?
Interview series announced by Nine in 2016 is yet to see the light of day.

While media spend considerable time mulling the future of Karl Stefanovic, nobody lately has mentioned the project floated for Today colleague Richard Wilkins.
In 2016 Nine announced an 8 part interview series The A List that would feature in-depth interviews with the likes of Tom Cruise, Adele, Ed Sheeran, Kylie & Kendall Jenner and Hugh Jackman. Likening the show to Inside the Actors Studio, it was described as a “fine dining experience” that would go beyond the typical promo chat.
But after originally being scheduled in June 2017, it was suddenly yanked. It is yet to screen in 2018 and did not rate a mention at Nine’s 2019 Upfronts….
A year ago Nine told TV Tonight, the show was completed but had been held up with music licensing rights.
“So coming soon,” Nine assured. “Or in 2018.”
Last week a Nine spokesperson reiterated that it was still being held up by music licensing rights.
Meanwhile all those interviews about new movies and songs must surely be getting pretty stale on the shelf.
Sounds like Nine really needs to bite the bullet on this one….

Personally, I find the best way to enjoy Ed Sheeran is without music…
We will know more now about what respective movies and music they have worked on than then the celebrities themselves knew 2 years ago lol. As if this will ever air now.
Does this show really need music?
Can it air without music? (granted an interview doesn’t really need it…)
Perhaps they realised that anything with Richard Wilkins just doesn’t rate well.
Unsure how a talk show can have music rights issues. Can’t they just remove the songs they are having issues with and replace with others. Sounds very odd to me.
Why didn’t they just air it without the music? Just put instrumental music behind it instead…
C’mon Channel 9 stop telling porkies. The show is DOA …The A List would be so dated 2 years later to become completely unviewable or relevant —really these ” showbiz” celebrity interview compilations went out with the demise of the weekly gossip mags devoured by 24 / 7 internet click bait.
Unless you are Graham Norton, and sorry Dickie but you are definitely no Graham Norton…

The should replace Family Food Fight with it.
It would feel so dated going to air two years later, no?
It would fit in perfectly with the rest of the Channel 9 line up then.
